Stock hood hinge springs should not be used with any fiberglass hood as they will cause the hood to bow in the middle over time. This hood is metal reinforced at all mounting points. Please request a truck shipping quote prior to purchasing a hood.

Light weight hood hinge springs or a prop rod should be used both of which are available from k. In stock and ready for delivery.

This will not only improve the hoods underside appearance but will also significantly reduce the preparation time prior to painting. Thanks Robert this is a new hand laid all fiberglass hood for any 1965 or 1966 Mustang. Best news of all there is no increase in cost.

We then test fitted it to a show quality car also with all original body panels. Don't know if this true but it sounded plausible. Less expensive to a commercial address versus a residence.

The Twin scoop 1967 Shelby hood has become very popular for 1965 and 1966 Mustangs.

It has turned out bitching. Take a look at how we improved the underside by finishing all but the underside of the hood scoop area.

I received hood for a fair price,was shipped at good price and arrived fast.. It fit well on that car also.

This hood is molded from a steel hood pattern to insure that it would be dimensional correct. After considerable research and testing we decided on an all fiberglass hood versus fiberglass with a steel frame structure.

The pictures that accompany this listing show those test fittings. The metal reinforcements are drill and tapped to accept stock mounting hardware. The fit was very good and the paint and body guy made short work of it.

Auto Group worked with a new fiberglass manufacturer to develop a Twin scoop all fiberglass hood that would fit properly and look great. These knowledgeable people stated that when you combine two different materials such as metal and fiberglass the materials react to heat and humidity differently and are therefore more prone to warp and crack over time.
